one trip ((many adventures))

During a weekend spent on a tropical island, there are many adventures…of course.

BUT getting back from the Koh Chang last night included but was not limited to the following adventures:

1. A songtaew ride with a bonus—walking up one hill after stalling. Continue reading

((scenes from the city)) neighborhood edition

Snapped this on one of the rare sunny days recently.

There is a new outdoor, food-court area just a block from my apartment. And they put up this dancing chef. She is still there months later waving people into the parking lot; she’s just a darker color now.

No idea what this sign is about…anyone??

Mobile veggies. Can you see the girl sitting in the back there. She’s doing her thing even while they are driving around.

He has got his bases covered.

Tis’ the Season

The holidays can tend to make me giddy. And it is probably a good thing that I closed my curtains while I was decorating this evening. Having my neighbors see my happy dance when I finished would have been a bit embarrassing.

Thank you IKEA for carrying Christmas stuff this year. (Last year around this time, they had just opened and then because of the flood, they ran out of a lot of stock.)

The snowflake mug was make here in Thailand. Irony. Do they carry them in other IKEA’s too?

At the store they displayed the garland as a wreath, so I took my cue from that and finagled this beaut! I LOVE the gray yarn balls. Sorry that the photo isn’t so great.

I was thrilled to see the Poinsettias! And I had to hang my stocking that I got in the mail last year.

Last but not least, I got this cute little plastic tree. The ornaments are something I got last year in Manila.  I tried putting the ball lights on the tree but they were far too big. And the awesome nativity with the yak is from Nepal

Since my apartment is now brimming with seasonal spirit, I think a Christmas part is in order. I’ve never actually had people, other than a few that I work with, so I wonder how many people would fit for a party… I guess I will have to find out.

Now I’m going to dance around to some Christmas music then eventually turn off the Christmas lights and get some shut eye before church.

Blessings,
